Books,  Knitting

In Process.

This marks the almost-end of the first month in a very long time that I didn’t make a list of things I wanted to accomplish. I did have weekly to-do lists to be sure the must-do’s got done, but that was about it. So I have things in Process now.

A healthy stack of books (plus one on my Kindle – Goodreads link here)I never intended to finish Middlemarch this month (that won’t come til January), but I thought I might finish the other three. Of course the one on my Kindle (Peter Swanson’s Eight Perfect Murders) wasn’t even on my TBR, so who knows what I thought about it šŸ˜‰

And a sweater (Ravelry link) that seems perfect for fallI finished the tubular bind-off on the body just now … the light is terrible (because rain), but the colors actually look pretty true to life. and I couldn’t help noticing how well those colors match the view from this morning’s walkI love that purple is a fall color! (and this photo almost makes me wish I liked to wear that leafy/grassy green!)

Of course there are still two full days left in the month … maybe that’s a sleeve, or the last couple essays in Toni Morrison, or long walks looking at the changing colors, or catching up with y’all, or replying to all your lovely comments on my latest blog posts … or better yet, some of all that … and at least another hundred pages (or two or three or four?!) of Cloud Cuckoo Land, because if I’m being completely honest, spending the next two days curled up in the chair with that book feels like it would be amazing.

Wishing y’all a lovely weekend!

That picture from this morning’s walk makes me pine a bit for the Eastern US, if I’m being honest! What a lovely fix that was šŸ™‚ And I was tickled to see my library has order aother 96 *additional* copies of C. C. Land….and I should be one of the first, when they come in! So, glad to glean your ‘in process’ review. Wishing you a fine week’s end.

Loving the look of your Shifty, great pairing of colors. Great collection of books and such a beautiful fall photo. Enjoy your weekend!!

You are going to be wearing your Shifty long before I even get close to finishing the body! (Not that it’s such a huge surprise!) I feel like this has been a weird month, with highs and lows, but I’ve contstantly felt like I’m trying to catch up on life, so while I don’t usually have a to-do list for the month, I share your feeling of being in the middle of things. I think it’s going to be an excellent weekend for curling up with a book, and I’m really looking forward to catching up with everyone in our Zoom tomorrow — I feel like it’s been forever since I last talked to you all!

What a beautiful Fall picture and a beautiful Fall sweater! I never think of the South as being particularly colorful in the Fall (I’m used to New Englanad), but it is!! Seeing your stack of books, I had forgotten about Cloud Cuckoo and I don’t think I’ve ever read Middlemarch. I may need to correct that! Hope you had a lovely weekend Mary!

Oh, that’s just a lovely sweater, Mary. I’m sure it will be finished in No Time! Enjoy these lingering days of fall. šŸ™‚

These fall days are ones that just make me want to stop and freeze time (even the rainy days!) There is something just magical about fall!

I love this glimpse into your “in process” things!

Your Shifty looks great and I love those autumn colors! I’m working on the Shift cowl and enjoy knitting the pattern.
The weather has gone from summer time heat to endless days of rain to really cold and blustery here, but it looks like some nice fall will arrive for the weekend. I just spent a half an hour working on fall yard clean up and had to come in to warm up…the wind is freezing!

The Shifty is a beautiful sweater. The photo of the outdoors is gorgeous – very subtle colors. As always your reading inspires.
