“…every year, you’re all, ‘March! This is going to be great! Start of spring!’ But it’s definitely not, right? Because there will be a weird, freak snowstorm, and it’s like winter’s started all over. Unexpected things happen in March.” ~ Kate Clayborn, Love Lettering
Of course here in Georgia, March is the start of spring … and this year it also included Third Winter and ushered in a Fourth (which actually began overnight on the 31st to welcome in near record breaking lows for April). Weather aside, we got our first vaccine shots; and I felted a sweater (totally on accident). Unexpected things for sure!
A Gratitude List: longer days. vaccines! cherry blossoms and dogwood blooms. pizza and caesar salad at home, watching Stanley Tucci talk about Italy.
Life Giving: 10 minutes of quiet stillness every morning. @SharonSaysSo on Instagram. Richard Rohr’s Daily Meditations. white space on my calendar.
Life Draining: anti-vaxxers (thankfully, I don’t know any of them very well, but what I read/hear, well…). Georgia in the news for 1) a mass-shooting; and 2) restricting voting AND making it illegal to give water to voters standing in line.
A (short) Happy List:
- Brewing loose-leaf tea, thanks to Sarah for the intro to Plum Deluxe and to Margene for the tip about the coolest infuser mug
- Manicure Mondays, thanks to Olive & June, and matching my nails to a book I’m reading.
- Peaky Blinders, thanks to Kym. We managed to finish Season 4 before Sara arrived … it’s so good! (violent, yes, and still…)
- Our taxes are done!
- I turned the leftovers from that oops!sweater into a pretty cowl – and thanks to Fourth Winter, I even got to wear it more than once!
and that’s another month for me! Did you encounter anything unexpected (besides the crazy weather) in March? Please share!
P.S. a whole separate post is coming next week about the 17 (yes, 17!) books I read last month!!
