These three things are pretty much my life right now, which certainly isn’t a bad thing. Here’s what it looks like this week.
First up, it was Week Five of Marmie & Poppa camp. The boys made granola, a few LEGO models, and a set of stepping stones for our yard; helped in the garden (including harvesting the most expensive tomatoes ever 😉 ); learned about electrical circuits (Charlie) and practiced super shooter target skills (Sam). We all laughed and played, and slept well.
I didn’t have as much time to knit and read, but I managed some. I’m working through the latest clue of Kirsten’s MKAL, as are most of my Virtual Knitting group (this is us yesterday afternoon)
Here’s a close-up of my favorite part of Clue 2Kirsten is a genius. I had a hard time imagining how the stripes, slipped stitches and cables would look. and WOW!!, it’s brilliant!
I’m making progress on the test for Lori Versaci, too … maybe a photo next week. And the crocheting continues.I’m still averaging at least one row per day, and this is almost the halfway point. I started with 25 balls of yarn (five each of five colors) and this is what I have leftI’m not sure it looks like halfway, does it?! Maybe that means I’ll make this one a little longer, too?
Finally, the books. Y’all I have BINGOS! Four of them, thanks to three finishes in the last week.
Specifically, I finished This Tender Land (5 Stars and for sure a 2020 favorite), The Library Book (3 stars and I’m still thinking about it, especially in the context of current discussions about the future of policing in the US), and Elmer and the Dragon (4 stars and a delightful read with Charlie). I’ve penciled in a more few titles, including Savage Appetites and Deacon King Kong, two of my current reads. I love how much promise these cards hold!
Of course I’m behind on reading blogs, but I’ll catch up … in the meantime, if you have a suggestion for the With Recipes, Patterns or Puzzles square on that 2nd Bingo Card, please share. (I still have Save Me the Plums on hold … does it have recipes?)
Happy Thursday, friends. Be well.
