Just Life,  Knitting

Wow. It’s been a week, hasn’t it. I’ve been reluctant to add a tag to my posts, or honestly to even name COVID-19 here in this space. But … this space is about my story. And … this week much of my story – and everyone else’s – has been driven by COVID-19. So … I’m adding a tag. And I am going to be more open about mentioning the virus by name. I hope I can continue to refrain from actually using it in a post title. We’ll see.

Thinking about … how helpful my OLW and handful of intentions are proving this year. I totally planned to refresh the letter board each month. or at least each season. Now I can’t imagine not having that visual reminder of what matters and what I’m trying to be in front of me (or behind, as the case might be 😉 ) for at least the foreseeable future.

Grateful for … everyone who braved the dark hour to join me on Zoom last night!

When I started the meeting just before 9pm I wondered if I was going to be throwing a party for one. Imagine my delight when there ended up being SIX of us. I promised I’d setup another meeting for this weekend during daylight hours and Sunday afternoon seemed to be the best time. I’d love to see my whole screen full of your faces! Here are the details:

Topic: mere-et-filles meetup
Time: Mar 22, 2020 02:00 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada)

Meeting ID: 757 119 618

Inspired by … this permission slip

…to let go.

Fun … finishing …

and done!(details coming soon to Ravelry … which might need to be next week’s promise!)

Wishing you a weekend that looks a little different from your week (at least in good ways). and please, mark your calendar for Sunday afternoon!

Cute sweater! I love how it looks with your white jeans! Perfect!! (Also, last night was so.much.fun!) Just what was needed in this week!

  • Kym

As my temperature plummets to well below the freezing mark tonight, your white jeans and adorable pink sweater will remind me that spring will – eventually – be here to stay! 🙂 I’m looking forward to joining you on Sunday! (A much easier time for me. . . ) Thanks for organizing the meet-up, Mary. XO

That sweater is so sweet. Wish I could have been at your meet up instead of the school board meeting. I am putting Su day on my calendar

  • Carole

Your pink sweater and white jeans are a beautiful shot of spring in the south! We had warm temps yesterday but now it’s cold again and that’s spring in New England! I plan to join you on Sunday afternoon.

  • Sarah

    The sweater is perfect!

I had so much fun at our virtual knit night and am looking forward to Sunday — there should be two knitters on the call on my end!

Calling the virus by its name reminds me of Harry Potter: “Call him Voldemort, Harry. Always use the proper name for things. Fear of a name increases fear of the thing itself.” — Albus Dumbledore (PS17)

Your sweater is lovely and springy. We’ve gone back to chilly temperatures around here. I’m not sure I’ll be able to join you Sunday afternoon (we have an outdoor hike planned) but hope to join you during future Zooms.

Thank you so much for instigating and hosting virtual knit-night. I enjoyed hearing everyone’s voice. I hope to join you Sunday. I am sorry I was late on Thursday. I was all set up but didn’t understand I needed to use the meeting number to link into the session. Your pink sweater is perfect for Spring. Your look darling in your white jeans and pink sweater. And Spring has arrived – thank goodness.
