Unraveled Wednesday | Joy.
Happy Wednesday, my friends – I am delighted to be sharing some Joy with y’all this week!
Yes, I know my posts are often full of joy 🙂 and this week my needles are too … behold … Joy
This sweet lace cardigan designed by Veera Välimäki has been in my must-knit queue for almost two years (when my sweet friend Deena picked up a signed copy of Interpretations Vol. 5 at the Hill Country Weavers retreat in March 2018). And a few weeks back, I realized I had the perfect yarn for it – Plucky Solo Fingering in the prettiest ballet pink. At the time, that yarn was languishing in a hibernating project … so I unraveled. soaked. hung to dry … and started Joy. I actually cast on Friday afternoon and got the twisted ribbing started so I could enjoy knitting in front of the fire on Saturday.
More Joy – I’m making good progress without any unraveling. The increases are done, I’ve separated the sleeves, the lace is under control (I won’t memorize this pattern, but I will be able to knit in low light while watching TV) … relatively smooth sailing now.
More joy – The Florida socks are making me happy! (I’m sure they’ll make my mom happy, too.)

And I finished another amazing book. Tell Me More by Kelly Corrigan. Based on what I see in Goodreads, I know I’m late to the party (again). I’ve added this one to my “must read” shelf; so if you haven’t read it, please do!
That’s all I’ve got for updates … thank you Kat for hosting our meet-up!

That’s a great start to your new sweater and the socks looks awesome, too. I’ve had Tell Me More in my queue since 2018!

That yarn is quietly beautiful and I’m sure Joy will be also (and you definitely need to put socks for yourself on your list)!

The new sweater project looks very Spring inspired. The sock looks great and oh so warm. It is a blustery winter evening here so wool socks are a must. I wish you more joy this coming week.

Joy and joy and more joy! I have moved on to another win and just finished the second sleeve. I think another finish will be happening soon!

That’s a beautiful start to your cardigan and it suits you perfectly! It looks like an interesting construction method, too, so I’m guessing it’s a good engaging-but-not-too-challenging knit.
Kat
Great start to that cardigan and I LOVE the color!! And, those are just such happy socks 🙂
I am off to look at Tell me More! XO

That pale pink yarn is just so pretty Mary. That will be a beautiful sweater. I also loved the picture of your feet with different socks. Your Mom’s Florida socks are really colorful and FUN!! Like Flamingoes!!

JOY looks fantastic on you!! 😉
It looks like I’m going to have to move “Tell Me More” from Want to Read to Currently Reading… very soon!

Lots of lovely knitting there Mary! I just purchased two copies of that book and gifted one to a BFF. Looking forward to diving in.

Such a lovely pink, Mary! That cardigan looks perfect for you! I’ll bet it will bring you Much Joy. And I really loved Tell Me More. Glad you liked it, too.

Based on your earlier mention of the book, it arrived here yesterday. I’m deep into my next book for our interfaith book group, and have THREE libary books sitting next to me, so I’m thinking I’ll take it along with my on our trip to visit Sarah next month. I’ve read two of Kelly’s earlier books, and enjoyed both of them.

lovely knitting and the photo is cute. I like your phone cover 🙂 I’m knitting sleeves and am determined to finish the second one this weekend. I was sidelined by a sinus infection but now I have modern medicine to revive me.

Such a pretty sweater and colour – what’s not to like about being a ballerina :). And those socks are very stylish too – love those candy hues.
