Happy Wednesday! and happy sigh to be finally joining in with Kat and friends with an update on knitting and reading … I’ve even managed to update Ravelry and Goodreads, too!
First up, the knitting – I’m knitting the body of Soldotna nowand kind of amazed I have this much progress to show. The colorwork shows up much better in this photo than it seems to in my lap while I’m knitting … so it’s a “bright light” only project. And there hasn’t been much of that this week. Thankfully, Night Shift is bright enough for just about any light! It’s also mindless enough to accompany even the most compelling TV or book. The upper left corner is where it stands right now. I just finished the 7th (of 9?) repeats and based on how big those balls of yarn are still, I might be making it a little bigger.
Opera Wednesday resumes today and I’ve wound the yarn to start another pair of socks for my mom. The yarn is from Espace Tricot and our visit there last September. The yarn looks a lot more gray in the cake … and on the needle … than I expected. For sure, it won’t be a pair that looks like any of her others.
On the reading front, I have finished five books this month (year!) I also finished Last Days of Night, pictured above with Night Shift.
I can’t imagine I’ll keep up this pace, but it is nice to have two (40%) five-star books – Olive, Again and Out of Sorts – so far! Station Eleven and Last Days of Night were surprisingly good (4 stars) and The Lola Quartet I liked. You can read more about my thoughts on these books on Goodreads.
Please do check out Kat’s to see what everyone’s unraveling this week.
