Books,  Knitting

Unraveled Wednesday.

Whoa, is it really Wednesday … evening??!! already? I spent all day yesterday at home (mostly by myself with Holly) and I’m finally starting to feel a bit settled. Thank y’all for hanging with me – I look forward to catching up with what’s going on in your worlds soon!

So this Unraveled post is not feeling nearly as Unraveled as it would’ve felt on Monday … and I have knitting and reading progress to share.

First up – the knitting. I am cruising along on my Bon Voyage. It’s a very fun knit … even in almost black yarn … and a nice go-along project with Whippet. My knitting brain has been mostly in cruise control lately (straight stockinette on bigger needles) so this cardigan, in a light fingering yarn and row-by-row instructions with 8 markers, lace and multiple kinds of increases … is a definite change of pace. I started the collar at knitting on Monday and yesterday started the body. This “little bit of knitting” took about eight hours

…but isn’t it pretty??!!

I didn’t even realize that the eyelet lace traveled down the shoulder seam until I got to that part in the pattern. What a lovely detail! That lace is repeated on only the right front edge of the “button band” (there aren’t any buttons) … which isn’t nearly as hard to keep up with as I thought it would be. This is not a sweater to be knitting while I watch TV (yet?!!), but it’s been mostly ok for listening to a book. Much of that knitting was done listening to the end of All the Ever Afters and I anticipate it’s going to hear a few more books and a lot of podcasts before it’s done.

and that’s my segue to the reading! I was shocked when I updated Goodreads this weekend and discovered I’d actually finished NINE books for Summer Bingo. All the Ever Afters was #10!

I made a Summer Bingo shelf on Goodreads, so if you’re interested in more details on any of the titles, they’re here. So far, all the books are borrowed,  only three are audio, and five are actually real books! The unfilled circles on those 10 other squares are books I’m currently reading or have “immediate-ish” plans to read. With two more months to go, I think I should easily get three Bingos. I have a Biography of a royal (Queen Elizabeth II) in my audible library and it’s only four hours long. Two more Bingos? we’ll see!

Delighted to be joining in with Kat and friends today and look forward to seeing what y’all are making and reading. Happy Wednesday!

The new sweater looks lovely, even if it is rather time consuming. I’m sure it’ll be worth it.

And way to go on all that reading! You’re reminding me that I need to do an update on my bingo card.

That sweater in Coast is truly gorgeous! You find the most wonderful knits! As for my reading, I have been working through Middlemarch (all almost 36 hours of it!)

Both of your projects are indeed lovely, and I’m impressed with how many books you’ve read/squares you’ve covered for Book Bingo. I heartily approve of those index cards! 🙂

Love the new knitting project. I’ll have to listen to the biography on QEII-she is one of my favorites. Happy Knitting!
