Sometimes Mondays.
…bring beauty in an unexpected way.
Marc gave me a lovely bouquet of pink and white flowers for Valentines Day. I think he was surprised when I told him I didn’t want to throw away these tulips. Instead, I moved them off the counter to make room for the new bouquet. Four days later they’re beautiful in a much different way. I do love a fresh bouquet. but aging tulips make my heart sing.
Happy Monday!

I love fading flowers . . . and tulips fade really, really well! So lovely, in nearly every state of bloom.

I haven’t seen aging tulips because I’ve always told John that cut flowers make me sad and I’d much prefer something living that I can plant. I think I spoke too soon, and may have to reconsider. Interesting shapes, arcs, and colors!

I had tulips that looked about the same as yours – they do fade beautifully.

They are lovely. And I’d keep them for as long as…Enjoy!

The color of the tulips is beautiful.

I don’t blame you for wanting to keep them — they get more interesting as they age!

Ahh, tulips. I just love them. They are so quickly blown away though. But, my favorite memories are all the tulip lined streets of the hometown of my heart – Holland. Nothing is as beautiful than a sea of tulips!

Those really do look lovely – and such a great color! Whenever I buy a bouquet of tulips, the petals seem to fall off so quickly!

The do have a special beauty to them don’t they? I should have some like that in about 5-6 days!

Oh, they are quite lovely. I like to save flower petals… just for a while. There’s something about their color, shape & texture that I just love.

I love flowers and when my roses (when I get them) start to die, I pluck the petals and put them in a bowl to keep enjoying. Now that I have a cat who eats everything, it will be a while until I get flowers where I can see them (ha!!).

I love the color. It’s a new favorite for me (you’ll see it later this week) as that purply pink feels fresh to my eye. I leave the amaryllis blossoms as they fade and change for the same reason you’ve kept the tulips. They get more interesting and artful as they fade.

I love how tulips seem to keep branching out like they are reaching for the sunlight.
