Three on Thursday | Unraveled.
Good morning! Yep, I’m back – sadly, Betty’s travel plans changed and she and Beth aren’t visiting us. So today, I’m catching up with a quick mash-up of Wednesday and Thursday.
First. It’s still raining. and it’s gotten colder. but at least it’s not snowing. We did get a little break from the rain yesterday afternoon. It’s hard to tell which Holly hates more – wet or cold. (and I wonder how much longer the grass will be green?!)
Second. I’m making great progress on Jaycee.Just one more sleeve (and a whole bunch of ends to weave in) to finish it.
And third. My church is hosting the community Thanksgiving service this evening. There is a cookie reception afterwards and everyone is supposed to bring at least a dozen cookies. I’d been looking forward to baking with Betty (her signature sugar/nut cookies), but instead, I’m mixing up snickerdoodles.I told Marc that I think I’ve used the mixer more in the last six months than the last six years combined #boybirthdaybaking. (I’ll bet he wishes I could say the same thing about the stove 😉 ).

I’m sorry that Betty isn’t visiting, but you’ll be nice and cozy baking cookies. It’s just starting to snow here in MD, and I’ll follow it north when I drive home this afternoon. Maybe I’ll have to bake my favorite snickerdoodles tonight to make my own house delightfully cozy!

I love snickerdoodles! Sorry that your plans got unraveled. Stay warm

Jaycee is gorgeous! Sorry Betty’s plans changed, but sounds like you’ve got plenty to keep you busy. It is COLD here (20’s) – and of all days, we just had a fire alarm at work! Standing outside in this weather is not my idea of fun. As Bonny said…the snow/ice/etc. should hit us soon. stay warm and enjoy your cookies!!

Snickerdoodles were my mom’s signature cookie. So delicious! Jaycee is going to be such a wonderful sweater! We’re bracing for the first snow / ice event tonight…woo hoo! (Not!!)
Kat
Your sweater is lovely! You will easily get it done this month!
And, Snickerdoodles… mmmmmmmm!
Debbie
I love snickerdoodles! We had a few inches of snow overnight, it looks pretty and the roads are clear…my favorite kind of snow! Your sweater is looking good!

We’re well into slush, cold etc here! Hot tea and snickerdoodles sound like just a perfect antidote. Sorry your aunt’s plans were changed- trust they will be rescheduled soon!
Cheers ~

Mmm. Snickerdoodles are my favorite, but I’ve never baked them myself! Sorry about Betty & Beth’s thwarted visit, and hope that you can catch up another time.

I’m so sorry you won’t be able to have time with Betty and Beth… Your sweater looks great, Mary, and snickerdoodles sound perfect right about now. XO

Your sweater looks beautiful! We’re getting lots of snow and maybe right now, as I type, some “wintry mix” as I can hear it hitting the windows. What a mess! Not sure about my class in Philadelphia tonight. It’s not cancelled (I called), but I’m not sure I want to be out in it!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm…snickerdoodles!!!
A little bit later this afternoon there will be gingerbread in OUR oven. It seemed like the perfect thing to make on this snowy day.

I’m sorry for the change in travel plans and that you didn’t get to bake with your Aunt … but what a cozy scene at your kitchen counter. And I had to click the snickerdoodles link because I must be one of the few who didn’t know what they were. Now I want some! Your sweater is looking lovely!

I’m sorry your plans for company got changed, hopefully another time will come up for a visit. You are going great guns on your sweater and pass me a snickerdoodle, would ya?

So sorry your aunt couldn’t make it and that your weather is still frightful. Hope you have bluer skies soon! I have to tell you a story about Mylo. Mylo was groomed yesterday and the groomer shaved a lot of his puppy fur off (he still has a puppy coat!). This morning he refused to wear his fleece jacket so I took him out without. After we were into the walk about 1/3 of the way he started to shake and shiver. I turned around and when we got to the last 50 yds he forced me to carry him. I don’t know if he realizes the difference was the lack of a coat!

mmmm, cookies! What a fun church you have. I think I need to get a coat for Frodo. He trembles a lot once we get inside. He used to be okay with the cold but now that he is nine I think he’s had it! I love Holly’s coat 🙂
