Unraveled Wednesday.
For the first time in months, I joined my “Starbucks Knitting Group” this afternoon. It was wonderful to catch up in person over lattés and chai tea. They started a Mosaic-along last month (whew, no FOMO for that one since I finished up Sam’s just about a year ago). That’s me knitting a sock in the foreground. And Becca is sitting opposite me – with two knitting projects (Mosaic and Soutache – a little FOMO about that one) and yards of fabric destined to become smocks for her and another friend.
The smock pattern was designed by Ellen Mason, a brand new name for me. Becca found her through a friend on Instagram and when I looked her up – she’s odacier – well…. FOMO! Thanks to Kat for the idea to subscribe to post notifications 🙂 I am in love with her soon-to-be released shirt. Seriously – check out this. and this. (side note – my Instagram feed has become a serious source of unraveling for me; between the independent designers and the fabric stores, I’m falling down a lot of rabbit holes.)
And then Greer, sitting to my right and knitting that adorable blue and white Mosaic, shared about her latest FO – Just Nicole. She said it was a lot of fun to knit (interesting construction and a well-written pattern) and it’s great to wear (her daughter told her it was the best sweater she’d ever knit and would she please knit her one, too … and she agreed – two in a row says a lot!) I don’t have anything in my stash to knit it or I might’ve cast on as soon as I got home!
Instead, I looked around on-line for suitable substitutes (any ideas?) … and wrote a blog post. Slightly unraveled, but not completely undone!
Joining in with Kat and friends. Happy Wednesday!

I’ve been thinking about sewing for a while, but after perusing Ellen Mason’s ig, I might need to give her Eliz. Shannon apron a try. My sil and I were just talking about garments like this, and I bet she’d love one for Christmas. Thanks for the show & tell!

My first thought when I saw that photo was – wow! Mary’s got a lot of knitting projects going on! THEN I realized they weren’t all yours! I’m glad you could join your knitting group this week, thanks for sharing everyone’s projects with us.

Ellen Mason is one of my Very Favorite Designers. (And her patterns are truly perfection. She thinks of everything!) There are So Many Rabbit Holes. . . sometimes I have to remind myself to stop looking/daydreaming and start MAKING something!!! 🙂
Kat
I absolutely love her new shirt! And, I have purchased it! I am so glad you discovered it too! 🙂
