Just Life

having Fun!

Happy Friday, my friends! seems like a perfect morning for a little TGIF.

Thinking about everything I need to accomplish next week. I usually make up my to-do lists on Monday morning (because #retired), but this one is longer – and more important! – than usual.

Grateful for healing. I had my third PT appointment on Wednesday and was cleared to resume all my activities (except for running, but I don’t have plans to resume that anyway), with caution. To celebrate, Lauren and I walked three miles in the park yesterday morning. It was wonderful!

Inspired by the Vienna weather forecast to sew one more tunic for our trip. I ordered fabric for two cooler weather pieces (an Esmé tunic and a Uniform) from Stonemountain & Daughter and it arrived yesterday. Of course I still have a sweater to finish (and a host of other things – see above!), but I’m washing the fabric. just in case.

Fun! We had a great time helping Charlie celebrate his birthday yesterday.

The celebration with his class began with him telling “his story”, complete with photos.

and ended with him carrying the Earth around the Sun four times, while his classmates watched and cheered him on.

We went back to his house for dinner, presents and cake. I have no photos of the pizza or the presents, but here’s the cake,

with a wish that will most certainly come true.

The cake was a huge hit. I doubled this white cake (without the sprinkles) to make two 8″ layers and frosted it with chocolate cream cheese frosting. That photo at the top of the post was taken post-cake. in case you were wondering 😉

We’re watching Florence’s progress and sending good thoughts to everyone in her path. At this point, it looks like we’re going to get rain, but nothing like the winds and floods forecasted for the Carolinas.

Have a wonderful weekend!

That weather forecast looks perfect for sightseeing! (and eating Viennese pastries!) I love the idea of walking the earth around the sun, what a great way for kids to have a visual representation of their time on earth. And hooray for cake – yours is beautiful!

I am sending you so much energy to get through your list, knitting, and yes… all the sewing! Have a productive and wonderful weekend!

And, I love the first picture! It is priceless!

Looks like the weather is going to be perfect for travel when you are in Vienna! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Love the carrying of the world around the sun! What fun! Looks like Charlie had a grand celebration and the cake sounds yummy! Carry on with your preparations for your trip and congrats for “healing!” Happy Weekend.

I’m so glad that you are out of the boot and healing, Vienna wouldn’t be nearly as nice if you were were still wearing one shoe! Like everyone else, I also love walking the Earth around the sun. I’ve wished lots of adults a good time on their next trip around the sun on their birthdays, and quite a few of them haven’t understood what I was talking about! 🙂

Those smiles in the first photo are just what I would expect to see after enjoying a piece of that delicious looking cake! Looks like a fun day all around! And the forecast for Vienna looks just about perfect.

Happy Birthday to Charlie! Years ago I had a friend who used the phrase “trip around the sun” which I have continued to use and enjoy! So fun to see Charlie literally make it real. So happy to hear you’re able to get back to the walking and movement you enjoy!
