Just Life

yesterday evening’s walk

Just three more sleeps … not that anyone’s counting 😉 or really needs another reason to celebrate Friday!

Thinking about fall making. I’m usually still full-on into summer knits well into September, but this year, I’m already thinking about wool. and the sewing has added a whole new level … no, I’m not thinking about flannel, but I am thinking about long sleeves. and pants (yep, still … stay tuned).

Grateful for all the rides (and offers of rides). friends who have dropped by to visit. my mom who has faithfully fed me lunch at least once a week. and everyone who has offered me encouragement and support these past six weeks. I’ve tried not to whine much, but still…

Inspired by Aretha’s legacy. truly, the outpouring of love and R-E-S-P-E-C-T has been the most positive thing I’ve seen in the news in months. (and I totally need to up my hat game this winter!)

Fun! We set sail for Alaska a year ago today #flashbackfriday!

Wishing y’all a wonderful weekend … and if you could keep your fingers crossed for me on Monday morning, I’d be ever so thankful!

Hard to believe it was last year! Weekend starts in 2 minutes-cocktails on the deck will be the first order of business. Happy Friday!

  • Margene

Certainly have my fingers crossed for you! Aretha was the first thing on my playlist and I loved so many of her songs. You’re right about her inspiration!

  • Kym

Sending you all the foot-healing juju! I’ve been listening to Aretha since earlier this week (when I first heard she was failing). Her music never disappoints! (And Tom and I just booked an Alaskan cruise for next summer!)

  • Carole

You know I’m pulling for you on Monday and hoping you get just the right news! As Aretha’s song goes, I’ll say a little prayer for you!

I cannot stop thinking about fall, every store I go in they are flaunting the fall decorations. It’s too early to decorate for fall (I start Sept 1st). But gosh, I’d love to do it now!!

Fingers duly crossed for Monday! :). My DH broke a little bone in his foot and had to wear a boot for eight weeks, so I understand something of the limitations of it. But easy goes when it comes off – your foot may be stiffer than you might imagine … Sewing pants (or trousers as we call them here) sounds a complex endeavour. It’s the zip insertion that would put me off! All kudos to you for even thinking of it.
