Three on Thursday | Making Me Smile.

Joining in with Carole and friends today to share three things … making me smile.

First up, a card from one of my Friday morning small group friends. I am wearing a bandaid on my toe (ugh, the boot hits it in an uncomfortable place), but my bandaids have anchors and trucks on them (of course). And those do make me smile, but I think the package should include ones with a simple heart, too.

Second, my watch’s never-failing-optimism. (that’s me this morning, waiting for that first cup of coffee …) I’m glad my watch remembers the Me I used to be 🙂

Third, Marc (finally!!!) found a landscaper to tackle our yard (he’s a golf buddy who owns a nursery – we liked his plan, his price and his availability!) They started yesterday by ripping out all the overgrown monkey grass in the front beds. They came back today with plants. and dirt. and a really great attitude. (fingers crossed we’ll be grilling out back come September!)

In times like this, we can’t lose sight of the things that make us smile. Happy Thursday!

That iWatch… it is the best motivator ever! And, it loves to tell me to get up once an hour 🙂

I am glad your sense of humor is surviving the boot!

My watch is very hopeful too! Though I always disappoint it on my non-gym days. And cheers for the landscape guy! We’re waiting for a walk guy…no sign of him yet! I hope you’re holding up ok!

your watch is betraying you 🙂 I would love to have someone do our garden but my husband believes he will do it….one day… Buck up buckeroo, you are day by day getting closer to freedom!!

  • Bonny

Your landscaping looks like it’s full of promise! It’s probably good that I don’t ave an iWatch; I can imagine myself being grumpy and petulant enough that I might yell at the watch and tell it that “you’re not the boss of me!” You deserve some nice, cheerful band-aids, be they hearts, trucks, or knitting needles!

Ah, yes, the daily iWatch encouragement. It works (except when you’re laid up)! Looking forward to seeing what happens in the yard and how your landscape changes! I like Bonny’s idea of knitting needles on the bandaids!

My Fitbit says cute things like Let’s get stepping or Want to go for a stroll. Makes me laugh, especially when it is in the middle of a dull meeting.

There are days when I just take my watch off completely. I feel so defiant. (Take THAT iWatch! You are NOT the boss of me!!!) (If you want to “close one more ring” . . . you could do 30 minutes of an upper body strength/flexibility workout while seated . . . ) Can’t wait to see your landscaping! It’s so exciting to get new plants in the ground. And YAY for truck bandaids — although I think heart ones would be an excellent addition! XO

Sorry your boot’s causing your big toe to be sore…just 11 days to go b4 the boot comes off! I didn’t recognize Holly at first…and then I took a second look! Geez Louise (my middle name) I said to myself! I got the watch and it’s still in the box…this weekend ~ certainly don’t want to rush into anything…
    Cheers~
