Weekending.
…it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here.
I put up the bird tree Saturday morning. Love this year’s additions: (top right) a birthday gift from my folks and (bottom right) a gift to myself from my August visit to Florida.
Saturday afternoon, Lydia, Katie, Karen and I gathered here for birthday knitting (marking the official “end” of my birthday celebration for the year!). They put out a delicious spread
…and of course there was wine, too. Cheers!
Saturday evening was Marc’s company party. I hope the party photographer took one of the two of us, because the only photo I have is this one – that’s Marc on the left with his co-worker Bruce on the right.
Bruce has played Santa at the company party for years; this year he asked Marc to help out. Doesn’t he make an adorable elf?!
Yesterday I finally hung the ornaments on our big tree. I tried to keep everything hung below waist level “Charlie friendly”…wish us luck tomorrow!
And we watched – for the second time this season (!) – Love Actually.
It’s also sounding a lot like Christmas. My Merry 2015 playlist (all 97 songs) is on shuffle.
It’s nice to have the decorating done, and Marc’s party out of the way. Nothing left to do now but enjoy!

Lovely tree! Your little ornaments are so very sweet and they make me smile! Love. Good luck with your Charlie-proof tree!

We watched Love Actually Friday night. I'm quite sure I will watch it again before Christmas, though. Love your trees – good luck with Charlie tomorrow!

Lovely, Mary! Everything looks just lovely. I haven't watched Love Actually yet this year — but I will soon! It's my FAVORITE Christmas movie. Good luck with Charlie tomorrow!!!

Marc is very cute as an elf and your trees are really lovely! Here's hoping Charlie "looks with his eyes, not with his hands" tomorrow!

Your trees are beautiful! And I love the idea of having a bird tree. No little people in our family right now, but our cats make keeping the tree decorated challenging. I'll add my good luck wishes that Charlie is gentle with the tree tomorrow. 🙂

Good luck tomorrow, Mary! Have a bunch if "re-directs" ready!! As in, "oh Charlie! Look at that over there!!" 😉

Marc makes an adorable elf! Our tree is all done, and just a few things set out to make it feel Christmas-y. Lots of cards and notes to still get into the mail . . .

Definitely a cute elf! 😉 I have the tree up but the spirit is a bit slow to hit me this year… I'm sure our weird un-wintery weather has a lot to do with that. There's green grass out there, for pete's sake!!
