From Today’s Walk.
…not the park, but the greenway. Not this morning, but this afternoon – after yoga, when it was a delightful 50-something degrees. Accompanied not by Lauren (she’s away this weekend) but Karen Joy Fowler’s We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves. I started listening this morning and on my walk got so engrossed that I stayed out way longer than I planned.
I must get back on track though, which means I’m going to need y’all to identify that gorgeous fluff in the first photo. With just the gentlest of shakes, the whole thing fell apart and the pieces floated away on the breeze.
Did you get detoured in a delightful way today? I hope so!

That's milkweed! It's essential for monarchs, so spread those seeds around. http://monarchjointventure.org/get-involved/create-habitat-for-monarchs/
That is a gorgeous, sunlit photo, as is the rest of the lovely scenery on your walk. Thanks for sharing!

I've never stopped to leave a comment before, but wanted to say how much I enjoy your blog! I've gotten many excellent book recommendations and love the beautiful pictures you post ~ like the ones today. 🙂

Yes, milkweed. Our day was in the 50s, too and quite beautiful! With a day that beautiful it must have been especially nice to be outdoors. I had no time for detours, but I wish I had!

Those are beautiful photos of your walk. I'm jealous of your temperatures, it was cold and blustery here.

Your top photo is fascinating, but I have no idea! What a beautiful day you have had – your photos are glorious. Here, it's grey and wet and windy.

Mother Nature's bounty, warm fall temps and a great listen are all the ingredients for a peaceful commune and extended walk. I'd have stayed out, too! Thanks for sharing.
Cheers~

Sometimes a detour is a good thing.
