Knitting

FO Friday | Charlie's First Christmas Sweater.

…Katie and Charlie made their visit to the shop today. It was a relatively quiet Friday around the yellow table, which was probably a good thing because my dear friend Martha also visited (all the way from Tennessee!) with her new little one. It was fun to see old friends and new friends.

And then to see Charlie showing off his Christmas sweater.

(yes it was a bit warmer today…sweaters meant bare feet!)

I fell in love with this pattern (it’s Anders, by Soren Kerr) last winter and couldn’t wait to knit it for Charlie’s first Christmas. I chose Rowan’s Wool Cotton. It was my first time using the yarn (ssshhh, don’t tell – I’ve been recommending it for years!) and I’m happy to say it lived up to all those recommendations. It’s soft, has great stitch definition and it’s machine washable (in warm!).

The pattern was easy to follow and fun to knit (especially that vikkle braid detail that separates the ribbing from the stockinette). I normally don’t like colorwork, but on a baby sweater…it’s over before I get tired of it! (especially because I omitted the colorwork on the sleeves.)

We even managed a photo of the back.

All the details are on my Ravelry project page (here). Next up, I think I’m going to make him mittens. Maybe these?
